You will definitely need a good guide to StarCraft 2 and my top recommendation is Shokz StarCraft 2 Guide. Check it out here
We are updating this site on a regular basis, so be sure to check back, for any updates on StarCraft 2 tactics, strategy and guides.
If you are unfamiliar with Starcraft 2, then here is a quick run-down of what Starcraft 2 (also abbreviated SC2) is all about:
Starcraft 2 was released July 27th 2011, more than 10 years after its prequel. It is availbale at any major retailer and is even available as a digital download online. Looking at the huge following of Starcraft 1 and the anticipation and hype this sequel had before the release, it is safe to say that Starcraft 2 has become the most popular RTS (Real Time Strategy) game of all time.
There is a single player campaign in Starcraft 2, which features and introduces the gritty world of Starcraft and where the newbie and those who enjoy the narrative aspects of computergames can immerse themselves.
But for many players, the real draw is the online play, and that is where most players end up: pitting their wits and dexterious fingers against human foes on the virtual fields of battle. We will cover both campaign and online play on this website, but with an emphasis on the online play
In Starcraft 2, you get to choose between three playable races:
1. Zerg
2. Protoss
3. Terran
Each race has its own unique units, buildings and hence their playstyle differs vastly from each other. In order to master each race in a multiplayer conflict you need to pick up certain skills, which we will cover later.
In the campaign you play as the Terran renegade and general, Jimmi Raynor. As such the campaign covers most aspects of Terran game play and units (although the Diamond Back feature in the campaign is unavailable in multiplayer battle) and is a good starting point for those just entering SC2 and RTS.
In multiplayer, you get to log on with your own SC2 alias and battle other players around the globe. The goal is to destroy the other guys forces. Simple, right? The beauty of the game is that you ned to master a lot of skills on both macro and micro level: economy, resource gathering, structure building, tech research, intelligence gathering, defensive and offensive tactics and counters. Within the three races, each unit has its own strengths and weaknesses which makes SC2 an endless well for fun and games – always something new to try out. The old proverb ‘practice makes perfect’ holds true here.
In addition to units having advantages over others, some units are classified as support units and can’t actually fight. For example, the Medivac is a Terran unit that restores the health of biological units as well as a means for transportation for ground units. Heal mechanical units (such as the Thor or the afore mentioned Diamond Back). Those units need to be repaired by your REssource gathering units
That’s one of the areas where a good Starcraft 2 Strategy Guide will come in handy; there are a lot of different variables and strategies you can use given all the different units and races. I will give a lot of great strategies and secrets for winning plus review some of the top guides.
Despair not if you are experiencing troubles in your first multiplayer games – this site will give you directions on where to pick up the best strategy guides for multiplayer games suited to your level.
